Here is another one of those that I started testing plugins in AE and ended up doing more and more until I felt I had a little something to show off.

Most of my creative experimentations don’t end this well. Plus, it gave me a chance to really stretch myself working in AE and Video Copilot’s Element 3D.

I would probably not do it this way again.
Way too much work and a huge learning curve, but fun none the less.

Each scene was created separately and then edited together using AE.

I didn’t work off a storyboard, or have any beginning script layout. It was more of a bunch experiments working and testing certain plug-ins in AE and seeing what I can accomplish using such procedures on the fly. I figured why not do something centered around a single idea and seeing if I could do it. I didn’t start off thinking I’m going to create a lengthy music video about the trip home of the ELO saucer.

After creating all the scenes I then started editing music and sound effects to go with what I felt worked with the scene. As well as what would work with the final edit as a whole, knowing somehow I was going to have to put it all together.

In the end it was a fun piece to do although a lengthy project to create.
